Qualifications:  - High School Diploma or GED

- Have the ability to multitask and adapt to unexpected situations.

- Manual dexterity and ability to work under pressure are desirable.

- Must be neat in appearance, required to wear a uniform and hair restraint.

- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

 

Reports to:                  Food Services Director

 

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Assume responsibility of opening and closing the kitchen.
  2. Plan, Direct and Participate in the preparation and serving of all food.
  3. Order and security of all food, supplies and government commodities.
  4. Assume responsibility of training, counseling, directing daily tasks and the discipline of your staff in accordance with district policy.
  5. See that provided menus are followed in accordance with the NSLP.
  6. Oversee and participate in the cleaning of the kitchen, serving, storage and dining areas.
  7. Implement a preventive maintenance schedule.
  8. Participate in Food Service Committee meetings.
  9. Instruct new employees in performing their assigned tasks.
  10. Direct sanitation and safety procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  11. Ensure all food and equipment temperatures are documented according to HACCP guidelines.
  12. Assure that all equipment is in safe working condition and notify the FSD and/or maintenance when repairs or replacements are needed.
  13. Maintain records on food and supplies received and used, maintain production records and perform a monthly physical inventory.
  14. Capable of operating all kitchen equipment and the instruction of such operations to subordinates.
  15. Disseminate information to subordinates and act as a liaison between the FSD, students, kitchen and school staff.
  16. Capable of operating our POS system, including but not limited to daily records, low balance notices to students, statement of accounts and the operation of the terminals. Responsible for the daily deposit of funds to the building office.
  17. Attend professional conferences or meetings as the budget allows.
  18. Provide operational excellence for our vending program.
  19. Perform other duties assigned by the FSD including special events and catering services as needed.
  20. Provide for the daily operation of cafe One11 and ala carte to ensure that the senior high program maintains its operational excellence.
  21. Maintain fiscal responsibility according to budgetary guidelines.
